In October of 1982 Mary and I trekked from the Sun Cosi River to the Khumbu region.  We knocked on peoples doors for accommodation and food, stayed in tea houses and buddhist  monasteries. 

 

At Namche Bazar we met the Canadian Mount Everest expedition who arrived at the same hostel at the same time following their successful summit.

Mary and I continued up the Dudh Kosi River to Everest, known locally as Chomolungma.
